- Diversify Economic Development Efforts to Include Small to Medium-Sized Businesses.
- Encourage increased collaboration among the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, Texas State University and the City of San Marcos in building a workforce attractive to owners of medium-sized businesses and startups."
- Work with the Economic Development Partnership to develop a national television campaign advertising our city, the jewel of the Corridor as a small to medium-sized business supportive community.
- Invest more money in small to medium-sized business retention.
- Build and Maintain a Vibrant Middle Class
- Lower water, waste water and electric rates so that they have less of an impact on the middle class family budget.
- Evaluate the size of municipal government and make necessary spending cuts in an effort to lower the tax rate.
- Institute a city wide transit system which provides service in the evenings to middle class employees, thereby reducing the number of times they visit gas pumps.
